Kayla Gartenberg is an NYC based artist, whose work and practice is based in material experimentation and is guided by childlike wonder and curiosity. Kayla holds a B.A. from NYU’s Gallatin School of Independent Study, where she studied power and visual culture. Her studies focused on hegemonic ways of seeing and the presentation of visual information in the contemporary world. Kayla’s approach to her artwork is informed by her exploration of visual art and culture through an interdisciplinary lens, as it plays out in structures, histories, ideologies, aesthetics, and everyday life.
